Update 0.1.2 - new cards and improved balancing!


Hi everyone,

First of all, thanks to everyone who provided feedback. That's invaluable to improve the quality of "Decked in Love" and make it as fun as possible.

The update 0.1.2 brings a lot of changes that I hope will improve the experience for everyone.


New cards:

To improve you deck-building options, from now on you'll start every run with two new cards:

-- take 3 love from a target;

-- heal 3 love;


Previously, to have a good run, it was almost mandatory to pick at the start a card that deals damage and a card that heals love. I hope that the addition of these starter cards will allow for more different decks from the get go.

These two new cards are meant to be weaker cards at the start (while still providing good help), but can then be upgraded to be stronger (or maybe removed from the deck, if you'd rather spend your upgrades on other cards);


In addition to that, the pool of cards you can pick at the start of the game increased from 9 to 12;

These are the 3 new cards that you can now also get at the start:

-- Remove all buffs from a rival and send it back to its deck;

-- Remove a gift from the play zone, gaining half of its price;

-- Take love from a Rival equal to how much more initiative you have;


In addition to those 5 cards, 5 more cards can be found in later levels:

-- discard one card, draw two;

-- heal 2 for every card in the discard pile;

-- start of turn: if in hand you have one max charisma; if in the discard deck, gain 2 bonus points to a random stat;

-- deal 2 to every card in the play zone, + how many bonus initiative points you have;

-- Remove effects and buffs from a card, then change your active stat. Immune to Cock Blocker;


These cards were added to provide more options for some weaker archetypes, and/or to give more coverage against some enemy abilities like Alphamale, Genius, Wingman, or Teaching.


A few old cards that were also buffed to be more useful:

-- silencing card now also eliminates any stat buff to silenced rivals;

-- discard hand now deals 2 to all cards for each card drawn;

-- plus bonus initiative card now also draws a card;


Regarding enemies, a set of changes were made to make the game more fair:

-- Levels won't ever start with 3 rivals anymore;

-- shuffling rival cards back into the deck removes any buffs they may have;

-- Alpha-male and Genius abilities now only take the stats of one card per turn;

-- Start of the turn effects don't happen anymore in the turn the cards came in;

-- At the end of levels, the EX shop that you can enter to permanently remove a card from your deck has its cost reduced from 7 to 3 EX.
